Over the years, we have had inquiries as to whether we offered cake delivery as one of our services.  Many times, these inquiries were from parents with children away at school,  sometimes for the first time.  Some were from families who had a parent or loved one away from home during their birthday.  Having older children who were in University and close family members out of town, I could understand their feelings.  There were no such services available that we could find.  They say that need is the mother of invention, so I began brainstorming how we could offer these services.  How could we deliver a cake in canada, and have it arrive fresh and in perfect shape.  Well, I won’t go into all the details, but we were able to find the perfect solution.  We began offering freshly baked cakes back in March of 2008.  Using specialized recipes, we are able to ship such mouth watering cakes as our Blueberry Explosion, Luscious Lemon, Bursting with Bananas, Marble and Gorgeous Ganache cakes.  We even introduced a delicious fruit cake (with or without nuts) during the past holiday season.  Our cakes arrive within 1-2 business days, to ensure a much appreciated, fresh gift.

Today is my birthday and although I’m getting up there in years, I can honestly say that I still love balloons! (Remember when we were little and we used to take the latex balloons, blow them up, and then rub them on our hair to get them to stick to the walls!)  It’s not a party until the balloons go up, I always say.  Rich and shiny colours they are the perfect pick me up for any occasion.  At Boodles of Baskets we offer them with a standard base (looks like a wrapped present or birthday hat),  attached to a very soft furry plush friend (we have bears, elephants, cats and even a giraffe!) or how about some delicious Hershey’s Kisses or Smarties?!  Need them sent to someone?  We do something really fun.  We put our mylar balloons inside a big shipping box.  When the recipient opens the box………they pop out!  We can do up to three foil balloons this way (you know the 18″ ones with Happy Birthday, Get Well Soon, New Baby on them) attached to any of the above bases.  They are a great affordable gift and can be sent to congratulate someone on the arrival of their new baby, a “Happy Birthday” wish, a “Get Better Soon” wish , “I love you” or “been thinking about you” gift.  And after all, who doesn’t like to receive balloons?!
