Gift Basket Delivery Scam

It has come to my attention that there is a new scam out there and I wanted to take a moment to write to our customers to make you aware of the scam and how to avoid it.

Gift Basket Delivery Scam – Here’s how it works.

1) You receive a gift basket delivery with alcohol in the basket. The delivery person is dressed well and has a delivery van with her/him.

2) the delivery person says they need to collect $3.50 because there is alcohol in the basket, and it has to be on a credit card, they are not allowed to accept cash.

3) If you ask who the gift is from, they say the card is coming later, or they don’t know.

DO NOT provide your credit card to them. They are simply trying to collect your credit card details so that they can later use it to buy merchandise or take cash advances.

At Boodles of Baskets, you will NEVER be asked to pay anything for a basket delivery  (or by an other scrupulous gift basket company for that matter).

As well, all gift baskets are accompanied by a gift card, it is never delivered later, and our business card is included with every one of our baskets and gifts.

I wanted to bring awareness to this scam, so that these scammers can be stopped in their tracks!

If you have any questions, as always, we’re here to help!

Have a wonderful day!
